WHO WE ARE
Al Qaim Shia Centre is a vibrant Community based in Liverpool, United Kingdom. Originally founded in 2023 to serve the local Shia Muslim community who had emigrated from Pakistan and India, through our ever-growing relationships with our neighbours and local community. We are now an integral part of the local community, conveying Islam as a faith according to the teaching of Ahlulbayt and integrity that is beneficial to the wider British society.
Our History
Our community was established about a decade ago, Dr Hasan Sadiq Abidi and his allies the need for a centre to meet the needs of the South Asian local population. Until this date, the community members across Liverpool would travel to Greater Manchester for socio-religious activities. The Building of Al Qaim Shia Centre was purchased in year 2025 and centre saw numerous renovations and extensions to meet the needs of the community. On 6th June 2026, Honourable Ayatullah Murtaza Kashmiri inaugurated the Centre. The site was renovated to housed one main Hall with two different partitions for Gents and ladies, Azakhana/ Ashurkhana, a small Room for small gatherings and a room for Resident Alim.
Our Activities
Centre caters for the religious needs of the local community with Events on Birth and Martyrdom anniversaries of AhlulBayt, weekly supplications and lectures on Thursday nights. Aside from the weekly Thursday night programs at Al Qaim, the centre is constantly a hub of activity. We will aim to organise regular interfaith programs with local groups and have plans to invite dignitaries and local community leaders to speak at the centre to discuss pressing issues. Al Qaim already organises events during the year like Ramazan, Muharram and Safar and also the Eid functions. We also celebrate birthday and commemorate martyrdom of our Holy Prophet and his holy progeny (Peace be upon him and his holy progeny)
